The Purpose of the NBHIMA is to:

Promote the expertise of NBHIMA members as leaders in health information management to support clinical, financial, and management decisions in the health care field.

Enhance the image of the profession in the area of data integrity, privacy and confidentiality, and health information access and disclosure.

Encourage and support the professional development of members of the NBHIMA.

Provide a means for exchanging ideas and intercommunication among the members of the profession within the province.
